Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know about Good Steps Collective — rules, contributions, and how the challenge works.

Steps & Goals
Do I need to walk exactly 10,000 steps every day?
No. Your goal is to complete 60,000 steps between Monday and Sunday. If you walk fewer steps on one day, you can make them up on another day — especially on Sunday. Consistency across the week is what matters, not a perfect 10,000 every single day.
What happens if I miss my daily target?
Missing one day doesn't mean you've failed. Simply walk more on the remaining days of the week to complete your 60,000-step weekly goal. The challenge is about weekly consistency, not daily perfection.
Which devices or apps can I use to track my steps?
You can use any reliable fitness tracker or smartphone app such as Google Fit, Apple Health, Fitbit, Samsung Health, Garmin, or any other app that accurately tracks your daily steps.
When does my challenge officially start?
Your challenge officially begins on the upcoming Monday. You have a grace period up to Sunday of the joining week before your first challenge week starts. No fine will be applicable in the first week.
Submissions
Can I submit yesterday's steps today?
No. Daily submissions close at 12:00 AM (midnight). Late or backdated submissions are not accepted. This rule ensures the challenge remains fair for all members.
What if I forget to submit my steps?
The day will be marked as missed. Since submissions cannot be edited or backdated, manual adjustments are not possible. However, one missed day doesn't fail your week — keep walking and aim to complete your weekly 60,000 steps.
Can I edit my submission after uploading it?
No. Once your daily step count has been submitted, it cannot be edited or replaced. Please verify your steps before submitting.
Contributions & Fees
Do I pay ₹300 every time I miss 10,000 steps in a day?
No. The ₹300 Accountability Contribution is based on your weekly total, not your daily target. If you complete 60,000 steps by Sunday, no contribution is required.
Why is there a Joining Fee?
The ₹200 one-time Membership Fee helps maintain the platform, provide step tracking, support the community, and continuously improve your experience.
Where does my Accountability Contribution go?
Every Accountability Contribution supports verified social causes and community impact initiatives — children's education, elderly care, animal welfare, and community support projects. We regularly share updates about causes supported and impact created.
What happens if I don't pay my Accountability Contribution?
Accounts can have a maximum outstanding balance of ₹600. If contributions remain unpaid for two consecutive weeks, the account will be temporarily frozen until the outstanding amount is cleared. Once paid, access is restored immediately.
Rules & Fair Play
Why are the rules so strict?
Because consistency is built through accountability. Clear and fair rules help everyone stay committed, create lasting healthy habits, and ensure the challenge remains fair for all members.
